A personal welcome
Richard De Vere Head of Social Engineering, Ultima
“Social engineers exploit people’s natural tendency to be helpful and trusting. I’ve spent the last 10 years investigating and addressing social engineering tactics, and helping people to beat the manipulative techniques social engineers use to gain access to confidential systems and data.
After a life-changing cyber event, I realised what I wanted to do with my life and my career: to help and empower people to stay safe in the digital world. And I’m driven by the desire to make positive education the weapon of choice in the fight against cybercrime and social engineering.
Joining forces with Ultima represents the next step on this journey. It will bring us more power and scale to spread our message, while giving Ultima’s customers the edge in the fight against social engineering.”
About Richard
Since founding The AntiSocial Engineer in 2014, Richard has established the business as a leading authority on social engineering. He’s worked with organisations including The Metropolitan Police and the NHS, as well as for leading brands in the private and not-for-profit sectors.
The AntiSocial Engineer’ services span consulting, education and technology solutions. Using a mix of social engineering simulations and penetration testing assessments, and then applying the necessary remediation steps, the AntiSocial
Engineer helps ensure businesses are hardened against malicious attacks. In parallel, Richard campaigns to improve regulation that will help combat fraud. He is a regular presence at industry events and in the media, working to raise awareness of cyber security issues and highlighting their dangers.
The AntiSocial Engineer was acquired by Ultima in June 2022.
